May 2013, Chuji Wang's group at MSU, MS, USA. A couple of months ago before my graduation. I admire Prof. Wang because of his working skills, passionate principles, well-organized academic life, and so on. I am grateful for his contributions. Also, with my dear friends and coworkers Chamini, Susan, Nimisha, Peeyush, Haifa, Wei, Zhennan, Che and Mahesh, we had a lot of good memories.

Hey! So Glad You're Here.

I'm Malik KAYA. I was born in 1981, July 01. I graduated from Physics Department, Erciyes Univesity in 2005, followingly started for MS at the same university and graduated in 2007. I studied on fabrication and characterization of conducting polymer/p-Si diodes. For PhD education, I had a scholarship from Ministry of Education, Turkey. I completed PhD titled 'Time domain fiber loop ringdown sensor and sensor network' in 2013 at Missisippi State University, MS, USA. After graduation, I turned back to my country and started working at EskiÅŸehir Osmangazi University.

Adapting to new place, new coworkers and setting up own laboratory took very long time due to several limitations. Finally, Optics&Photonics Lab was setup in Vocational School of Health Services in 2019. Currently, I have been working on FLRDS fiber optic sensors and their application in biomedical, structural health monitoring and other areas for the purpose of early detection. I also work on magnetic and semiconductor thin films fabrication by electrochemical deposition technique and their characterization. Ni-Fe thin films, Co-Fe-Cu and Fe-Co-Ni ternary thin films, Ni-Co/ITO thin films, ZnO nanorods are some of the thin films studied and published.

Several social activities such as riding bike, soccer, table tennis, swimming, picnic (barbecue = mangal in Turkish), archery are must-have activities. I can keep up with the other activities. All opinions, discussions, ideas and projects are respectfully welcome.

I love studying in laboratory. Desinging, setting up and optimizing systems working with lasers always make me excited. Learning at any age is so amazing.

If you are also crazy about lasers, fibers and sensors, you feel free to contact to talk about 'what we can work on together'.

Prof. Okan Esentürk has opened his laboratory for me since 2017, August at Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. Since then, we has been working together on Fiber Loop Ringdown Spectroscopy (FLRDS) technique. He is an admirable personality and academic knowledge. His contributions are priceless. Tthanks to him and his group members Samet, Bahar, Tolga, and others.
